Who doesn’t love the thrill of meeting new people? Even with the rise of dating apps like Tinder, however, many people are still hesitant to meet strangers face-to-face. And while getting to know someone may seem a bit more nerve-wracking when you can’t see them beforehand, it’s actually much safer than most people may think. With the right precautions in place, meeting a stranger is nothing to fear. When you trust your instincts and stay mindful of your surroundings, there’s no reason why you can’t have an amazing time on a first date. There are so many reasons why someone might not want to appear as if they’re from their current location when using dating apps or sites. Perhaps you tend to meet a lot of creeps or maybe you live in a small town where everyone knows each other and will recognize you quickly. In any case, we’ll show you how to turn off global on Tinder.

How To Turn Off Global On Tinder?

There are 10 steps to turn off global on Tinder:

    1. Click on this button once. It will open a pop-up window that will show you the list of all the users on Tinder. Just single out your target user and click the “f” button on the top right corner of his/her profile. That is it! Now you can’t see your matches’ profiles anymore.
    2. Go to Settings and then go to the “Privacy” tab, select “Tinder” under “Use Tinder”. Turn off everything starting with “Tinder”. (Xanax)
    3. Turn off your phone’s GPS and change the location settings of your phone so that it doesn’t track where you are going or where you have been in the past few weeks (which is basically showing up where other people have been with their phones). You can also switch it off completely using this setting in Settings > Location > On or Off (if GPS is switched off, no location data is being tracked).
    4. Change your phone number and app password so that no one can access your Tinder account.
    5. Go to “Settings” and then “General” > “Accessibility” > Make sure you have turned off the “Show my location” option under the “Location” section. If you haven’t, then you should change it as soon as possible because it will show up where other people have been with their phones too and that’s not what you want to reveal.
    6. Go to Settings and then go to the “Privacy” tab, select “Tinder”. Turn off everything starting with “Tinder”.
    7. Delete Tinder from your phone completely using this setting in Settings > Apps > All apps and games (or just swipe left on Tinder for a few seconds). You will also need to delete all traces of the app from your phone like old photos and videos, downloaded files, etc. Also, make sure that there is no trace of the Tinder app on your phone.
    8. Go to Settings and then go to the “Privacy” tab, select “Tinder”. Turn off everything starting with “Tinder”.
    9. Go to Settings and then go to “General” > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut – Tap the “X” button on the top right corner of the screen that shows up on your phone when you press the Home button twice. That is it! Now you can’t see your matches’ profiles anymore.
    10. Go to Settings and then go to the “Privacy” tab, select “Tinder”. Turn off everything starting with “Tinder”.

    What Is Global Tinder Mode?

Global Tinder mode allows you to swipe left and right normally, but your matches will be based on your location rather than your profile information. For example, if you’re in New York City, but you’re in a global mode, you’ll only be matched with people who are in New York City. You can turn global Tinder mode on or off by tapping on the Settings icon (the gear in the upper-right corner of your screen) and then choosing “Your Location.” If you turn off global mode, you’ll be matched with people who are nearby as well as those who are interested in meeting people in your area.

How To Turn Off Global Mode On Tinder?

    • Swipe right on your home screen
    • Tap on the Settings icon (gear) in the upper-right corner of your screen and then choose “Your Location”
    • Toggle global mode off by tapping on “OFF”
    • Swipe right on your home screen to get back to the main screen
    • Tap on the Settings icon (gear) in the upper-right corner of your screen and then choose “Your Location” again
    • Toggle the global mode off by tapping on “OFF” once more
    • Swipe right on your home screen to get back to the main screen
    • Tap on the Settings icon (gear) in the upper-right corner of your screen and then choose “Your Location” again
    • Toggle global mode off by tapping on “OFF” yet agai
    • Swipe right on your home screen to get back to the main screen

    Conclusion

Turning off global mode on Tinder can be helpful if you’re trying to avoid being matched with people who are far away. It can also be useful if there are a lot of people in your area and you’re trying to find someone with a specific niche. If you want to turn off global mode, you can do so by tapping on the settings menu and then selecting “Your Location.” You can also turn on GPS location for Tinder by tapping on “Show My Location” and “Allow Tinder to Use My Location Data.” If you’re hoping to match with people close to you, it can also help to alter your distance settings. You can do this by tapping on the search menu and selecting “Manage Settings” from the menu. From there, you can change your distance settings as well as other aspects of your profile.
